2021 At A Glance
In 2021, Edison International delivered on our clean energy strategy, expanding our thought leadership, launching a landmark light-duty electric vehicle charging program and proposing additional investments in building electrification for SCE customers, and continuing to support Edison Energy* clients in meeting their sustainability goals. We remained focused on our 10 diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitments and on providing an inclusive and equitable work environment for all employees. We also continued our core mission to deliver safe, reliable and affordable power to SCE's customers, including meeting or exceeding nearly all of our wildfire mitigation goals.

Climate Change
Edison International is committed to doing our part to mitigate against climate change by accelerating the clean energy transition and helping to create a world where homes and businesses, as well as cars, trucks and mass transit, are powered by carbon-free electricity. We are also focused on adapting our business in the near and long term to the effects of climate change, including climate change-driven wildfires.
Extended Thought Leadership
with the policy paper Mind the Gap , highlighting accelerated rate of economywide GHG emissions reductions needed to meet California’s climate goals in 2021, and recent 2022 publication of the white paper Adapting for Tomorrow , focusing on climate adaptation.
Completed construction at 21 additional sites to install EV-charging infrastructure for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles through SCE's $356 million Charge Ready Transport program.
Advised on 1,475 MW of renewable power-purchase agreements for Edison Energy* clients.
Proposed $677 million investment to install 250,000 electric heat pumps across SCE’s service area between 2024 and 2027.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Edison International’s commitment to DEI is longstanding. DEI is aligned with our company values, and we know that when we integrate it across our business, we are best positioned to accelerate a clean energy future.
Our annual DEI Report shares extensive metrics on our work to advance DEI among our employees, suppliers and communities. SCE has also made its consolidated EEO-1 report publicly available.
Majority of board directors are diverse in terms of gender, race, ethnicity and/or LGBTQ+ self-identification, with eight of 11 diverse in representation and gender parity achieved among independent directors in spring 2022.
88% of employees across the enterprise participating in our employee engagement survey said they are proud to work for Edison .
Over 80% of $20 million in annual philanthropic funding went to organizations and initiatives focused on diverse and underserved communities.

Operational Excellence
As the COVID-19 pandemic continued to challenge communities in 2021 and climate change-driven wildfires affected California, SCE supported our customers, employees and other stakeholders through our focus on providing safe, reliable, affordable and clean power.
Met or exceeded nearly all of SCE's wildfire mitigation goals in 2021.
Lowest system average rate at SCE among large investor-owned utilities in California.
Planned addition of 535 megawatts of battery energy storage at three strategically located SCE substations to increase grid reliability.
Continued focus on employee safety with 2021 emphasis on leader accountability and ownership.

In 2021, Edison International extended our sustainability goals to include net-zero GHG emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2045.
